Beyond reasonable concern, Artificial Intelligence (AI) has the potential to optimize activities, increase efficiency, and improve the accuracy and efficacy of societal predictions and likelihoods. The most promising applications of this technology may not be related to civil liberties or the social fabric, but rather to addressing technical challenges beyond human capacity. Climate change is a difficult issue that requires significant changes to our transportation, construction, agriculture, water resources, and energy sectors. While AI is being utilized to enhance climate change estimates and implications, there has been limited research on its usage. The recent debate has prompted calls for more uniformity and transparency in the processes used to synthesize climate change research. Here, an analysis of systematic literature review approaches in the application of AI in climate change research is presented.
