Abstract

In this study, the dynamics of information behaviour among women faculty members in colleges in Manipur have been evaluated by describing their information-seeking behaviour related to learning, teaching, and administrative processes. The study has been conducted using a mixed-methods approach and has achieved its aim of understanding how the faculties access, assess, and utilise information across different fields. The study has revealed that while technology has had a significant impact on academic research, traditional sources of information and personal networks still play an important role. Furthermore, it has been shown that faculty from different disciplines exhibit differences in information behaviour across institutions. Based on the findings, the study has recommended developing information literacy and information behaviour in the ICT era, as well as supporting digital transformation services, in higher education institutions in the state.
