Feminism has emerged as one of the most influential critical perspectives in contemporary English literature, transforming the representation of women, gender, identity, and power. Contemporary feminist literature challenges traditional patriarchal ideologies by giving voice to women's experiences, questioning gender stereotypes, and advocating equality in social, political, cultural, and economic spheres. Modern writers have expanded feminist discourse beyond the struggle for legal rights to include issues such as intersectionality, identity, sexuality, body politics, race, class, migration, and globalization. This research paper examines the development of feminism in contemporary English literature and analyzes how modern literary works reflect women's struggles for equality, autonomy, and self-expression. The study adopts a qualitative research methodology based on the analysis of scholarly books, peer-reviewed journal articles, literary criticism, and selected contemporary literary texts. It explores the evolution of feminist literary theory, the representation of women in modern fiction, poetry, and drama, and the contribution of contemporary female authors to literary and social transformation. The research highlights that contemporary English literature has become an important platform for addressing gender inequality, domestic violence, workplace discrimination, cultural oppression, reproductive rights, and identity politics. Through diverse narratives and complex female characters, contemporary authors challenge patriarchal norms and encourage readers to reconsider traditional assumptions regarding gender roles. The study concludes that feminism continues to influence contemporary English literature by promoting equality, diversity, social justice, and human dignity. Although significant progress has been achieved, literature demonstrates that many forms of gender discrimination remain prevalent across societies. Consequently, feminist literature continues to serve as an essential instrument for social awareness, critical reflection, and cultural transformation.
