Women's empowerment has become one of the most significant themes in modern English literature, reflecting the changing social, political, and cultural status of women across the world. Modern English novels increasingly portray women as independent individuals capable of making informed decisions, challenging patriarchal norms, pursuing education, achieving economic independence, and shaping their own identities. Unlike earlier literary traditions that often confined women to domestic roles, contemporary fiction presents female characters as leaders, professionals, activists, and agents of social change. Through these narratives, modern novelists explore issues such as gender equality, identity, freedom, education, workplace discrimination, domestic violence, intersectionality, and personal agency. This research paper examines the representation of women's empowerment in modern English novels by analyzing selected literary works through the lens of feminist literary criticism. The study adopts a qualitative research methodology based on the analysis of scholarly books, peer-reviewed journal articles, and selected novels by prominent contemporary writers. The research explores how literary texts challenge traditional gender roles while promoting equality, dignity, and social justice. The findings indicate that modern English novels have significantly transformed the representation of women by presenting complex female protagonists who actively negotiate personal, social, and professional challenges. These narratives encourage readers to question stereotypes, recognize structural inequalities, and appreciate women's contributions to society. The study concludes that modern English novels function not only as artistic expressions but also as powerful instruments for promoting women's empowerment, human rights, and social transformation.
